Job Description

The Candidate are delighted to be representing a leading full-service agency with huge ambitions for growth in the next 12 months. Theyre on the lookout for a Head of Web Development to join their ever-expanding team - its getting so big theyve had toopen a new office! The Head of Web will be at the forefront of designing, coding and integrating websites for clients leading their own team of developers. Their cliental span far and wide to a variety of locations and markets therefore no project will everbe the same therefore they are looking for someone able to multitask, has an eye for detail and is very people oriented.Like the sound of things so far Read onKey Responsibilities for the Head of Web Development

  • Supervising a team of developers as they build bespoke websites using WordPress
  • Developing high quality web applications
  • Developing and maintaining excellent code
  • Work collaboratively with commercial teams and other relevant internal departments
  • Integrate third party services through APIs
  • Lead the project and client management side of things as well as managing development lifecycle and quality control
  • Build relationships with clients
  • Ensure all projects are perfectly tested and robust before implementation
The Ideal Candidate will have
  • 6 years experience as either a Full Stack Developer or WordPress Developer
  • 2+ years experience managing a team of developers
  • An excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript and AJAX
  • An excellent knowledge of PHP and MySQL
  • Commercial experience building and developing WordPress sites
  • A great ability to solve technical problems such as reviewing and debugging code
  • The ability for inform design and is able to translate designs into cooperative and mobile-first sites
  • Experience improving site performance and render times
  • The ability to plan and produced well documented, semantic and clean code
  • An excellent understanding of what it means to work in a strong team environment therefore enhancing our clients well established culture
  • Excellent project management skills where you are able to present, manage and deliver against client deadlines
  • Experience using Git version control
