Head of Software DevelopmentRole Type: PermLocation: ManchesterHybridSalary: £100,000 - £130,000 plus Bonus & BenefitsSummaryOur client in an international data and analytics provider, working to uncover deeper information, serving unique insights that help the industries and markets driving global economies.This role will provide global leadership to the engineering team responsible for delivery of a web-based SaaS platform aiding loan syndication. The platform has been instrumental in tens of thousands of deal launches by hundreds of banks and institutional clients,utilizing a database including hundreds of thousands of loan professionals globally.Role Description Build and grow multiple teams of global engineers to transform, grow and support platforms within the Financial Markets division. Liaise with senior technology partners, architects and global industry experts to establish and evolve the technical direction for the platform. Participate in system design and changes in system architecture for the platform. Contribute to budget analysis as it relates to technology selection, project planning, and resource management. Accountability for delivery from the teams, ensuring best levels of velocity and quality. Drive innovation and adoption of best practices.Professional Experience Required Significant experience managing high performing software development teams and building mission-critical platforms. Excellent architecture and design skills. Good background on leveraging cloud technologies. Focus on Microsoft stack, but knowledge on cross-platform and open-source tech. Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment with mature CI/CD infrastructure. Experience working in a global environment with stakeholders distributed around the globe. Good understanding of testing best practices and testing automation tools. Experience with both front-end and backend technologies is a plus.Personal Requirements Displays energy, drive and stamina. Can make decisions and take risks. Analytical and can work with business stakeholders daily. An understanding of the finance sector and in particular the loan deal making, and syndication process is a plus. Ability to demonstrate a good business acumen is a plus.This role is hybrid and mostly remote at this time but will require some time spent in Manchester office. The salary range is £1000,000 - £130,000 depending on experience and capability.
