Head of School - Special Educational Needs Greater Manchester £52,000 - £57,000 per annum REQUIREMENTS It is essential that all applicants must:Have worked at least at Deputy Headteacher-level in specialist schools.Have a strong track record of good or outstanding Ofsted inspection ratings.Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).It would be desirable that applicants:Have previous experience working as a Headteacher in a specialist setting.THE ROLE Compass Associates have partnered exclusively with an established provider of specialist schools and childrens homes to find a Head of School for their well-established school for children with physical disabilities, complex needs, learning disabilities, andautism. The successful candidate will work with stakeholders to lead a strong staff team, effectively manage the schools finances and referrals, and enable the best possible outcomes for pupils. The Head of School will receive significant backing and support from the hiring organisation; they will report in to the Director of Education, and shepherd the school through a period of significant growth. THE CANDIDATE The employer is seeking applicants who are experienced senior leaders in the specialist sector who have a firm grasp of the current Ofsted framework, accompanied by a history of good or outstanding ratings as the school is rated requires improvement, so a turnaroundis needed. As a Deputy/Headteacher in the specialist education sector, you will have developed a deep and nuanced understanding of special educational needs - particularly of autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or complex needs.
