Job Description

Our client is a major multi - national organization providing an extremely diverse range of services across commercial and industrial sectors. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join them as Head of Sales - Projects (Oil & Gas).You will lead a dedicated team of sales professionals in securing medium and large projects with solutions including PAVA/PAGA, Production and Wellhead Control systems, Platform Interface, Fire Detection and Suppression systems, with both new and existing customers.This is a new role and has become available as part of a recent strategic growth initiative. It is an excellent opportunity to develop an exciting and rewarding career path within a major blue chip organization.You will need Oil and Gas sector experience plus proven Field Sales Management credentials. We are looking for a combination of energetic day to day leadership and strategic business development skills that will identify growth opportunities in order to exceed market expectations.Job Title: HEAD OF SALES - PROJECTS (OIL & GAS)Reporting to:GENERAL MANAGER UK&IReports: Sales Consultants x 10Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the Go-To-Market strategies in existing and new vertical markets (e.g. renewables) and employ enterprise tools and value selling concepts to deliver targeted growth.
  • Ensure strategies are achieved, taking key learnings to continuously adapt your sales strategy to deliver success.
  • You will also encourage use and effective adoption of company systems, tools, pricing policies and sales processes/training
  • Relentlessly manage team performance, leveraging market and CRM data (salesforce.com) and blending field accompaniments with formal coaching conversations to ensure field sales teams are continuously improving.
  • You will leverage the framework, tools and processes to ensure coaching is effectively focused on the needs of everyone in the team.
  • Appropriate UK travel in order to properly support the team of sales professionals. Some degree of foreign travel may be required.
  • Work with the Marketing function to support with external communications, tailoring customer campaigns.

  • Proven Field Sales Manager with experience in Oil and Gas or related sector.
  • Proven success in securing large ticket new installation projects in the Oil and Gas sector
  • Experience within the Renewables sector is not essential but useful
  • Experience in developing clear Win Plans to drive increased effectiveness in execution,
  • Coaching skills with sales professionals to drive increased performance including target account acquisition, building, deploying and developing account and opportunity-level plans (network, relationship map, impact plan, objectives and activities).
  • Experience in field sales and have in-depth knowledge of the complexities of relationship selling
  • Skilled at planning, business development, opportunity and pipeline management via informal and formal interactions to achieve channel objectives.
  • Highly commercial, energetic and inspirational leader
  • Genuinely comfortable in a high pressure driven environment
  • Ideally have experience of Salesforce.com CRM application
  • Experience within a large organisation with matrix structures is useful.
