Head of Data Operations Data Idols are excited to be working with one of the most successful Football Clubs in UK history, to support in the recruitment of a Head of Data Operations. As a club they have embarked on an ambitious journey to revolutionise the use of data within modernfootball. The Opportunity Within this role as a Head of Data Operations, the selected candidate will ensure that all football data is structured, well thought out and organised so that its available to the right people at the right time.The Head of Data Operations role sits within the Football Data Science team, who are committed to optimising decision-making processes on and off the field through the application of modern mathematical, statistical and algorithmic methods. They have projectswith experts across the football function, supporting critical projects which range from early talent identification to real-time analytics.Its likely the successful candidate will be from a hands-on Data or ML Engineer background and be excited about continuing to be hands on in this role. Key to success within this position will be a quality focused mind set, fixing any problems at source,automations, version control, encapsulation and scalable cloud infrastructure.Longer term, you will be managing a team of Data Engineers who collaborate across the football infrastructure. As well as that, you will act as the head of a federated data model in which departments can produce and consume data with minimum amount of governanceand the maximum amount of flexibility. And the role is expected to cover ML Engineering also in the long term. Skills and Experience
