Job Description

This growing business that supplies, imports and export sporting apparel to both the B2B and B2C customers is seeking a Head of the Accounts department. The role will be based in their North Manchester office - Prestwich area of Manchester.You will report into the Company Secretary, a management accountant and one other accountant and manage a team of 3 within the accounts department. Working for this friendly and established business, who are seeking immediate assistance. Your role will involve(but not limited to):-

  • Working daily off a sales and purchase invoice finance system
  • Preparation and submission of digital VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Supplier reconciliations
  • VAT reconciliations
  • Supervising both the sales and purchase ledger including managing a team of 3 on a daily basis
  • Calculating royalties and commissions for sales of certain brands and sales brought in by external sales agents and sales reps
  • Reviewing and analysing sales through consumer customers
  • Reviewing and authorising expenses
  • Posting of journals
  • Various ad hoc duties
To apply you must have:-
  • Experience of managing a small accounts team (transactional team)
  • Experience of both sales and purchase ledger
  • Experience of bank, VAT and supplier reconciliations
  • Ideally you will have experience of calculating sales and commission (not essential)
  • Ideally worked within a supply chain/import/export business (Preferred but not essential)
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP and Sage is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ideally you will be available immediately (not essential but preferred)
Whats on offer:-
  • Salary around £30,000 - £35,000
  • Monday to Thursday 9-5 and 4.30 finish on a Friday
  • 20 days plus one day each year of service up to 25 days (plus shut down over Christmas)
