Job Description

Dakota Hotels are seeking an IT professional with hotel experience for the role of Group IT Manager. Based in our hotel in Manchester city centre, moments walk from Piccadilly Station, the role will have remit across all five hotels in our group and be integrated into our operational team to have a real hands-on approachto our systems management.The role requires a forward-thinking individual used to working at a fast pace with experience managing a wide range of hotel systems such as the PMS, EPOS and guest app, along with the IT infrastructure within the hotels.CONTRACT AND REWARDOffering a competitive salary, the role carries a permanent contract for 42.5 hours per week, working office hours Monday to Friday with the expectation to of adjusting working times for ad hoc project work. We attract hard-working individuals who are passionate about working to the highest standards.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage the implementation of the new PMS and EPOS systems, liaising with the external stakeholders to deliver the project effectively- Manage the IT security strategy, ensuring infrastructure is secure and compliant, access rights are controlled and team members are aware of all potential threats- Be a key link between our revenue and marketing teams, to improve connectivity and our ecommerce infrastructure through our website, apps, and PMS.- Research and propose systems and initiatives to improve the systems and workflows for the operation, always with the view of improving efficiencies for our team and enhancing the guest experience.- Be proactive in driving improvement and change with a hands-on approach to coordinating between all stakeholders of any given project and the ongoing maintenance of systems.- Work closely with Hotel Management as well as our Finance Director and Director of Facilities to resolve any systems issues and seek ways to improve our systems structure as well as workflows.- Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan and the budget. Lead coordination of the implementation and training process for end users, resolving cross-functional issues at project level through effective communication.- Travel to visit all five hotels within the group as and when required (trips to Scotland are unlikely to exceed one every two months) to enhance communication and for any systems matters.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSThe successful applicant must demonstrate/be:- Comprehensive knowledge of system integration and infrastructure in relation to a hotel.- Experience in handling and managing property management systems, GDS connectivity, website interface and interfaces for ecommerce.- Led by the operational and guest needs, always working with a view to improve efficiency.- Great communicator with a consistently positive outlook with an ability to work with all departments within our hotel and across the group to implement desired objectives.- Successful candidates must demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for the role as well as their ability to show a long-term commitment to the brand as a real team player.- Excellent time management and organization skills with high attention to detail.- High level of competence with all Microsoft office software.- Understanding of ERP systems to ensure the day to day operations of the business across HR, Finance, Revenue etc.- Knowledge of VOIP / telephony systems.- Understanding of Business Intelligence tools and SQL.- Proactive and self-motivated.- Result oriented to achieve short term and long-term goals of our growing brand.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEThe successful applicant will have/be:- A minimum of five years experience relevant work experience in IT with a proven record of project management.- A minimum of two years working experience in a hotel environment.- A degree or professional qualifications relating to systems and IT are favourable, although training opportunities available including funding for a professional qualification following successful completion of probationary period.APPLYTo apply, please send us your up to date CV.For more information on our luxury hotel, please visit our:-Website-Instagram: @dakotahotelsuk or @dakotahotel_mcr-Trip Advisor: Dakota Manchester-Facebook page: Dakota Manchester
