Job Description

Dakota Hotels are seeking a Group Financial Controller to take ownership of the financial control and management across our five hotels and be responsible for coaching and management of our finance team.This role will be based at our property in Manchester city centre, located at 29 Ducie Street, close to Piccadilly Station. There is the option of working from home one day per week, as well as the expectation to travel within the rest of the hotels in thegroup, visiting Leeds once a fortnight and our three Scottish hotels once a quarter.CONTRACT AND REWARDHighly competitive pay rate with a target-based bonus. We attract hard-working individuals who are passionate about working to the highest standards.PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the Group Finance Director, the primary responsibility for this role is to oversee and action all finance and accounting requirements for the five hotels within the group. Key responsibilities will include:- Overseeing the monthly reporting cycle, supporting the on-site accounts teams in producing the management accounts, and scrutinising the results- Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and the reporting of variances- Directly line managing on property accounting management, instilling strong lines of communication and collaboration- Completing balance sheet reviews with the onsite finance teams, highlighting, and managing risks to the business- Managing the preparation of the annual statutory accounts, VAT returns and other statutory reporting- Overseeing the production of all management information, improving the accuracy, efficiency, and relevance- Providing financial guidance to finance and non-finance team members- Consolidating and forecasting cashflows- Ensuring compliance with legislation and internal controls across the business- Work with the IT Manager to oversee the accounting systems, ensuring these are set up effectively- Being the main contact for auditors, co-ordinating the provision of information and responding to queriesAPPLICANT REQUIREMENTSOur brand has been awarded by the Caterer three years in a row as one of the top 15 places to work in hospitality and we are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.
