Job Description

JOB TITLE: REAL ESTATE / BANKING PARALEGAL - LPC GRADUATES SALARY: up to £21,000 - depending on experienceLOCATION: Manchester City CentreHOURS OF WORK: 9am - 5.30pm Monday to FridayBENEFITS: 25+stat holidays - Death in Service Pension + BonusAre you currently studying your LPC and seeking an opportunity with a forward-thinking organisationIs your interest in real estate, banking or financeA fantastic opportunity has arisen due to our clients organic growth and continued success. They are currently looking for a graduate in the Real Estate and Banking department to join their team in Manchester City Centre. The successful candidate will supportthe Fee Earners covering the administration and provide a high level of client care.This role offers the opportunity to join an established and progressive law firm. You will also be provided with excellent training and development and will have the opportunity to develop your career with a view to a training contract.Main Purpose of the role:Reporting directly to all fee earners, providing administrative and clerical support to the team as directed and working with Central Processing department to provide effective support services to the teamJOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Maintain the in-house database inline the Data Protection Act, ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date at all times
  • Assist the post-completion assistant with Companies House and Land Registry registrations/requisitions when needed.
  • Be actively involved in assisting fee earners with redemptions, including preparation of release documents, liaising with the client to obtain redemption statements, preparing the completion slips and liaising with the Borrowers solicitor.
  • Assisting fee earners with completions, including completion day checks, priority searches, statements and slips for transfer of monies.
  • Work as part of a team when work is requested by any other fee earner
  • Ensure that all work is accurate and proof-read before being handed to the fee earner
  • Work closely with fee earners in the setting up, uploading and management of portfolio checklists and schedules, as well as condition precedent schedules
  • Assist fee earners in the management and prompt submission of matter progress reports to Clients where required
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with clients, other contacts and internal staff on the telephone and by email, relaying messages and providing assistance where possible
  • Make appointments, book meeting rooms, refreshments, arrange travel and accommodation, etc., as required, and liaise with reception as appropriate. This will also involve coordination of staffing and managing clear desk policy.
  • Prompt administration of files such as opening and closing, billing, recording undertakings, archiving, etc., as directed by the fee earner
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation and regulations as directed by the firm
  • In all dealings with clients and others, internally and externally, behave professionally, helpfully and courteously at all times and ensure the positive representation of the firm
