Job Description

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum DOEOTE: On target earnings dependent on experience.Location: UK Homeworker (remote working, based in the UK)ABOUT KEY TRAVEL:Key Travel is the UKs largest Travel Management Company, providing travel solutions for Faith, NGOs, and Academic sectors since 1980. We have a global presence with offices in the UK, USA, Canada, Kenya and across Europe - with our UK head office in Manchestercity centre.We proudly support our clients in the valuable work they do in the world and want to continue to provide specialist travel solutions to meet their complex travel demands through our team of committed and highly competent individuals whose personal idealsalign with Key Travels core values: Compassion, Impact, Simplicity.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:We are seeking a creative Global Bid Manager who will help us to develop and improve the Key Travel story in all tenders and related tender support collateral. This role will predominantly support Key Travels UK and North American markets.The Global Bid Manager role collaborates directly with the Business Development Managers and Account Managers within the Commercial team as well as with the Executive Team. There post-holder will also need to provide strong functional support across otherdepartments including finance and technology.This successful candidate will primarily focus on the delivery of bids through the continuous improvement of tender content and the narrative that is developed through the process of customer engagement touch points.With specific experience in bid writing, B2B trade marketing, and a minimum of three years-experience in the full range of bid delivery marketing activities, the ideal candidate will complement the business development and marketing communications mix asa core discipline.The Global Bid Manager will also be involved in project support with the Business Development Managers on the tender process and developing the commercial proposition, as well as having the responsibility to develop and maintain the tender library contentand lead best practice in the quality of collateral and content available for bid submission.A typical day might include:

  • Pre-tender new business communications (Email; Phone; Pre-Tender executive engagement proposals; White Papers and Presentations)
  • Pre-tender new business face to face meetings; process reviews; consultations (may include wider stakeholders of Finance; IT and Procurement and be supported by KT subject experts)
  • At any stage with executive engagement activity, "Be where the customers are" attending trade events and networking opportunities for executive engagement for customer and KT execs
  • Pre-Tender / Tender process, building specific customer focussed propositions that are configured to meet the customer requirements ahead of any tender process or as part of the tender submission
  • Tender content that is generic covering the whole KT proposition and specific segment differences for NGO; Academic and Faith
  • Tender production and support for the tender submission that specifically address the customer requirements and maximises the winning score
  • Uses competitor insights to ensure that the KT proposition is competitive and effective in neutralising the competitor advantage and maximises the winning score
To be successful in this role you will need the following skills & experience:Essential
  • Bid Management and Tender Project Delivery experience
  • Business to business (B2B) service organisation/sector experience
  • B2B Marketing experience; Trade Marketing; Narrative and Content
  • Experience of customer facing presentation, event management and executive engagement
  • Excellent and demonstrable tender composition and compiling skills - writing must fit with brand editorial style (precise but personal, reflective of the clients needs)
  • Experience in leading the development and management of marketing processes and creating a knowledge base
  • Proven ability to collaborate to produce a quality product
  • Strong personal organisation, good interpersonal skills and comfortable in providing direction and leadership to the tender team, peer group and other colleagues
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft office and familiarity with publishing and/or design tools
  • Some flexibility required on hours when a bid is nearing completion
  • UK travel including our UK office network
Desirable:
  • Business Travel experience
  • Experience of Salesforce CRM
  • Public or Private sector tendering experience
  • Good commercial acumen, including legal Ts and Cs
  • Project management - ability to organise and bring leadership to the tender process
  • Experience working across cultures and with remote teams
  • A willingness to learn and try new things
