Job Description

Your new roleGIS AnalystLocation - ManchesterAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a GIS Analyst to join the National Highways estates and facilities division.This role within the GIS and Research Team supports the organisations work in ensuring the creation and maintenance of GIS datasets, in relation to the operational estate, surplus land and Strategic Road Network. Working across the specialisms of the teamto facilitate analytical and audit functions supporting the delivery of paragraph 9.9 of the licensing agreement between Government and National Highways.What youll be leading on

  • Audit and undertake due diligence for all team datasets and outputs in collaboration with the Senior GIS Analyst
  • Verify the companys digital record of operational interests within the GIS
  • Accurately manage, manipulate and present complex geospatial information, datasets and documents
  • Interpret legal documents, imagery and other sources of validated information to capture, attribute and compile digital data to defined specifications
  • Identify and obtain maps, digital data and maintenance information from multiple sources
  • Prepare geospatial outputs and plans for internal / external customers and stakeholders
  • Support operational enquires from other teams, demonstrating the recorded boundaries and providing assistance to the interpretation of information displayed on internal digital mapping systems
  • Collate and analyse relevant information to make decisions and inform effective decision making

  • An awareness of Land Registry and their function
  • Organised and flexible, managing and prioritising own work to varying deadlines
  • Willingness to challenge concepts, ways of working and decisions
  • Good attention to detail with good levels of accuracy in all aspects of work
  • Ability to collaborate to deliver requirements to deadline Functional / Technical Skills
  • Awareness and ability in data, data quality and data management practices
  • GIS Qualification or relevant experience/skills in geospatial data creation, analysis, cartography and digital representation and understanding of coordinate system.
