Job Description

Gas Generator EngineerSalary: £25,000 - £35,000 + Company Car + Discretionary Bonus + Pension (6% employer & 3% employee contribution) + Private Healthcare + 4x Death in Service + 23 Days Holiday (including 3 days for Xmas closure) + 8 Bank Holidays + Laptop + PhoneTerritory: UK WideYour Location: Ideally based in either North England (M62 corridor), Midlands or South East UKThe Requirements of the Gas Generator Engineer:

  • You will already have 2+ year’s experience of servicing & repairing laboratory gas generators (Nitrogen and/or Hydrogen) in either a Field Service Engineer or Senior Field Service Engineer role
  • Understanding of membrane systems and Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA)
  • You will be educated in a Electromechanical discipline (HND/HNC/BEng etc) or closely related electrical/mechanical subject
  • A sound understanding of the principle of operation of gas generators
  • Ability to work and fault find from schematics, even on equipment not worked on before
  • You must hold a Full & Clean UK driving licence & valid passport
  • Experience of effective verbal communication skills, with an excellent telephone manner
  • Able to demonstrate experience in supporting customers or internal employees such as training or general support
  • Willing and motivated to travel extensively and spend nights away from home at short notice
  • The Responsibilities of the Gas Generator Engineer:
  • The Gas Generator Engineer is responsible for carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance, break down & technical support for a range of laboratory Gas Generators from leading manufacturers such as Peak Scientific, Parker Domnick Hunter, FDGSi and Claind
  • Input and maintain the integrity of data entered into the service report management system
  • Attend client sites and service/repair/replace instrumentation and equipment in accordance with quality management systems and ISO procedures
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients
  • Support technical enquiries from incoming calls and on-site customers. Provide onsite training to customers
  • Continually review work practices and make recommendations to line manager to increase the efficiency of current operations and customer satisfaction
  • Be aware of the company’s product services, understanding what the customer requires and relate this back to the appropriate person within the company to meet the customer’s needs
  • Build and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues
  • Exceed customer expectations through excellent CRM
  • Pass any new potential sales leads back to the internal and field-based sales team
