Job Description

Advert Health Education England is at the core of the NHS’s £5 billion investment into education and training across the NHS. The successful candidate will be an experienced Full Stack Java Developer with a passion for personal development. They will be joining a multidisciplinary Agile team, contributing their own experience and adding value whilst collaborating with others and potentially mentoring colleagues.We don’t expect you to know everything. The team is very happy to help with any areas you may have had little exposure to, but we do require a certain level of experience, the willingness to support the team and most importantly the right underlying learning attitude. We encourage personal development and encourage our team to grow alongside our digital solutions, helping make the NHS better.We heavily use the following tools and technologies:

  • Java for our back-end services;
  • Angular and React for our front-end applications;
  • Terraform and Ansible for managing our infrastructure;
  • MySQL, MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
    • You should apply if you:
  • enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • are experienced in Java;
  • have a good working knowledge of software design principles;
  • have the ability to research and learn new programming tools and techniques;
  • have an understanding of version control (we use Git);
  • are experienced in working on, or with web technologies;
  • have strong knowledge in databases, web performance and web security;
  • having Agile experience in a development environment is not required, but an understanding of Agile and ability to think in an Agile way is required.
