Job Description

Financial Reporting Manager£55,000 + packageManchester City CentreRobert Walters are excited to be exclusively representing a successful manufacturing/retail business who in their search for an ambitious Financial Reporting Manager to drive continued success within well established and continually ambitious business. Thisis an opportunity to join a £100m+ turnover company during an exciting period of change.The role reports directly to an impressive Financial Controller and will see you maintaining financial integrity, managing the accounting and external financial reporting along with building strong internal relationships with the senior leadership team.You will manage and develop a team of 2 initially, continually seeking to develop the individuals in your team along with controls and processes across the department.The role:

  • Management of a team of 2 responsible for the accurate and timely financial reporting for the division.
  • Ownership of balance sheet forecast made ready for quarterly forecast submissions to Group. This will require liaison with members of the wider finance team.
  • Lead on all external reporting, including all tax related and other statutory activities.
  • Lead overall trial balance and balance sheet management.
  • Lead liaison with Group on all required financial accounting submissions.
  • Holistic management of the balance sheet.
  • End to end fixed asset register management, including monthly additions, disposals and depreciation charges.
  • Oversight to ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are performed as per the Financial Execs checklist, including performing reconciliations not performed in other roles.
  • Production of a balance sheet pack, including provision of insight and recommendations for improvements to the Financial Controllers view.
  • Management of the Intercompany re-charges / balance agreements.
  • Any reporting commentary to Group associated with the balance sheet.
  • Ownership of all external financial reporting and submission requirements including UK VAT returns and office of National Statistics requests.
  • Supporting the Financial Controller, manage the year end audit information requirement, and liaison with local teams on audit delivery where required.
The successful individual:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.A background within
  • audit would be advantageous however not essential.
  • Experience of managing a team and/or coaching & developing colleagues.
  • Technically astute and ideally have exposure to a multi-site business.
  • A solid technical accounting background with experience of implementing and maintaining strict financial controls.
This role requires a self-motivated and focused individual who will quickly establish themselves as a key member of the finance leadership team.
