Job Description

Join us as a Financial Crime Investigations Specialist

  • In this critical role, youll work as part of a team to deliver intelligence, investigation and reporting capabilities to understand and manage the financial crime risks facing the bank
  • Youll build meaningful and lasting relationships with the wider business and make sure an effective flow of information is maintained across Financial Crime
  • Its a unique opportunity to take on a collaborative and challenging role
  • What youll doAs a Financial Crime Investigations Specialist, youll contribute to the delivery of intelligence, investigation and reporting products in a timely, effective and professional manner. Working with stakeholders across the bank, industry, law enforcement and Government, youll help to make sure products meet legal and regulatory requirements and are of industry-leading standards. Youll also:
  • Conduct and document complex investigations, including transactional reviews, into suspected money laundering or terrorist financing activity
  • Produce high-quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), internal briefing documents and control recommendations
  • Contribute to the delivery of tactical and strategic improvements and change projects to support the continuous development and enhancement of Financial Crime Risk
  • Support the wider Threat Mitigation Unit and Financial Crime Risk team in protecting the bank from the threat of financial crime
  • Contribute to the development of public and private sector collaboration to understand and manage financial crime risk to the bank and our customers
  • The skills youll needWere looking for someone with a good understanding of the financial crime legal and regulatory environment. Youll have prior experience of money laundering investigations, or investigations in related financial crime or fraud areas. This will have been gained in a banking, financial services, law enforcement or government environment. Well also expect you to have an understanding of relevant anti-money laundering or counter-terrorist financing regulations, and if you have a relevant AML qualification, such as an ACAMS AML Diploma, this would be an advantage. Youll also need:
  • The ability to write clear, succinct reports articulating suspicion and highlighting key issues for internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of assessing and analysing large and complex data sets in an investigative context
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong experience of financial crime investigation delivery
  • Good communication skills
