This is an exciting opportunity that has been created to head up the UK Finance function for a growing SME based in Manchester. They are looking for a commercially minded and Qualified Finance Professional that is happy to work with a lot of autonomy whilst shaping and building the UK Finance team. You will be comfortable making decisions and contributing ideas to the senior leadershipteam.You will be tasked with building and shaping the UK Finance function currently consisting of a team of 2. Ultimate responsibility for the preparation of budgets and forecasts.* Manage the financial close process including coordination of deadlines* Partnering with key stakeholders across the business to help achieve business goals and improve profitability* Present monthly figures to the board* Monitor actuals Vs budget * Implementation of best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs* Completion of biweekly/ monthly reporting to lenders* Monitoring debt covenants and ensure appropriate actions are taken well in advance* Oversee and assist in completing or reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliation* Preparation of financial statements as well as direct and indirect tax returns* Oversee the transactional finance function* Main point of contact with the auditors and running the financial year end process.* Oversee the documentation, adherence, monitoring and continual improvement to the internal control environment in relation to financial control* Cash Flow forecastingThe Finance function has traditionally been more transactional and they are looking for a strong leader to bring commercial input and value add to the broader business.
