Dakota Hotel based in Manchester city centre are seeking a finance professional who works with strong analytics skills and a real team approach for the role of Finance Manager to join our team.Our luxury hotel opened in May 2019 and has been awarded by the Caterer three years in a row as one of the top 15 places to work in hospitality. We attract hard-working individuals who are passionate about working to the highest standards.PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESThe role of Finance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the finance function at the hotel. This includes following corporate accounting practices, carrying out regulatory and financial reporting, commercial finance support for the Hotel Managerfor continued business improvement, completion of the monthly management accounts and ensuring day to day accounting tasks are completed timely and accurately by supporting three direct reports. Key responsibilities include:- Completing financial statements and reports including the month end reports with commentary.- Managing performance of the onsite finance team, supporting and overseeing the completion of daily tasks including the reconciling of cash and card payments received, performing float audits, and controlling all cash held on site.- Ensuring all revenue is captured and posted accurately, following up on any discrepancies.- Partner with Head of Departments on their performance month / year to date, driving achievement and educating on areas which could be improved for a better financial result. Generally working with the operational team to ensure best practice and standardoperational processes are followed.- Supporting hotel management with ad-hoc commercial and analytical requests to support operational business decision making.- Supporting with group-wide responsibilities such as the central overhead month end, VAT return and other statutory reporting requirementsAPPLICANT REQUIREMENTSThe successful applicant will have/be:
