A position, within the largest part of our Group, you will need to demonstrate excellent analyticaland numerical abilities, with a high level of accuracy and a keen eye for detail. Being a team player is critical as you will be leading a Management Accounts Team responsible for preparing the financial results of the business whilst supporting the FinanceBusiness Partners.Acting as the Finance Manager, with a particular focus on revenue, you will be challenged with the accounting of varied revenue streams, such as day rate consultancy, fixed price projects and longer term contract renewals. We have a mixture of principaland agency accounting across our services in addition to increasing levels of intercompany trading as we expand our global reach.Alongside revenue accounting you will be responsible for the delivery of timely and accurate financial information to the Financial Controller and Finance Business Partners, whilst providing them with assistance as and when required to facilitate the widerfinancial support for the division.The ChallengeAs the Finance Manager for the division you will have ownership of:

  • Monthly performance
  • Lead the team to prepare the financial results for the division, for 4 UK legal entities and 1 Spanish legal entity with a particular focus on preparing the revenue calculations.
  • Calculate and validate the base information upon which the revenue calculations are built. For example headcount, utilisation, charge out rates, renewal rates, shipments, contract durations.
  • Lead the team to prepare and reconcile accurate cost reporting and completeness of cost accruals and prepayments.
  • Provide base level variance analysis against prior year, budget and forecast to ensure this information is reported on effectively such that it drives the correct actions in the division
  • Lead the Management Accounts team in the review, investigation and resolution of variances
  • Support Management Accounts in the preparation of the month end reporting pack
  • Support Management Accounts in reporting commentary - agreed with the division
  • Support the relevant business partner with reviewing the Quarter End and Year End position and underlying actions
  • Lead the Management Accounts team with the monthly Hyperion load to group
  • Financial control and governance
  • Prepare all necessary journal entries (with sign off as required for material, non-recurring, non-transaction input)
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations (investigating as necessary) with the rest of the group
  • Prepare and obtain approval (investigating as necessary) from the Management Accountant of all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure regular reviews of the balance sheet reconciliations take place such as accrued/deferred revenue
  • Ensure that all relevant supporting documentation is available as necessary
  • Ensure that all spreadsheets, processes and desktop instructions are fully documented, regularly reviewed, updated and stored centrally
  • Support the team, Business Partner and Management Accountant as and when necessary in one off or new requirements
  • Ensure you maintain adequate relations with all related functions across sales and delivery and other finance functions including credit control and billing.
  • Ensure that supporting/upstream teams have clear deadlines for delivery as part of the month end process and other reporting requirements
Ideally, you will be qualified (ACCA, ACA or CIMA). A good working knowledge of IFRS15 is required.Experience in the technology sector, even better in the professional services world, is desirable.Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of IFRS principles, including recent changes
  • Understanding of what good financial control looks like
  • Fully competent in all Microsoft applications.
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion and Workday would be beneficial
