Job Description

A fantastic new opportunity working in an educational setting, within the Public Sector as a Finance Assistant based in Wythenshawe. The position advertised is an immediate start on a 3-month temporary basis. The hourly pay rate is between £14.00 - £16.00.This role is full time in the office, 5 days a week.Client DetailsMy client is part of the Public Sector industry, inspiring young individuals to achieve outstanding educational experiences and learning. Their vision and values are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in a safeand rewarding environment.DescriptionThe key responsibilities of a Finance Assistant will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Processing Purchase Orders
  • Manually matching invoices to Purchase Orders and investigating any discrepancies
  • Posting invoices in preparation for payment
  • Preparing BACS runs, ensuring all invoices are appropriately approved and supplier details checked
  • Processing of procurement cards order
  • Ensuring transactions are adequately supported and processed
  • Reviewing bank transactions
  • Posting petty cash payments online
  • Adding new suppliers and making amendments
  • Carrying out month end processes
  • Ensure accounting records are up to date and accurate
ProfileThe successful Finance Assistant must possess the following skill set and experience;
  • Background as a Finance Assistant
  • Not for Profit and Charities experience
  • Able to commute to Wythenshawe
  • Ability to process data manually and accurately
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good customer services skills and able to resolve queries in a reasonable manner
  • Background using Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills and to manage multiple activities
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, team working approach focused on improvements and supporting the vision
  • To be flexible and able to adapt and prioritise workload
  • Experience working in a school environment
