Supervisor Required in a production/Factroy Setting!Salary: £27,378 - £31434 based on a 39 hour week paying between £13.50-£15.50 an hourThis is a Permanent PositionLocation:ManchesterWorking Hours Hours: 39 hours - Mon to Thur 08:00 - 16:30 (two 10 min paid breaks and 30 min unpaid lunch) Fri 07:30 - 15:00 (one 10 min paid break and 30 min unpaid break)Holidays: 20 paid days (and 8 bank holidays) - going up to 25 accrued days (and 8 bank holidays) depending on time served in roleJOB TITLE FST SupervisorDIVISION Fluorocarbon Surface Technology__________________________________________________________________________________JOB PURPOSE: To ensure the smooth running of coatings operations inclusive of material & goods flow, supply chain co-ordination, product and capacity planning, variance assessmentREPORTING STRUCTURE: Production Manager__________________________________________________________________________________KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:To ensure smooth customer order progression from order acceptance to delivery.Monitor and report production variances on a weekly /monthly basis.Liaise with quality, purchasing and production departments to manage customer delivery expectations. This will also include customer progress communications and capacity/production planningExecute Continuous Improvement activities to optimise efficiency levels of all processesManagement of maintenance logs and auditing and planning of activities thereofMonitor material usage/scrap & process performance and reporting this to Site ManagerMixing materials to specification to ensure correct colour and consistency as per requiredBooking times and materials onto the business system (i.e., SAP) and other system related activities in the supply chain as requiredFinal documentation control and confirmation prior to dispatch of goods and works card managementSetting up of Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routings for the use of manufacturing with the assistance of Internal Sales teamUnderstanding of material safety data sheets, ensuring themselves and workforce adhere to safety protocols in place for handling of any materials and substancesResponsible for all stock management activities. This will include but not limited to: issuing material, good receipts, inward inspection, shelf life management, stock take, pre-production kitting.Full responsibility and oversight of management of goods packing, labelling and dispatch.Control and distribution of customers free issued goods followed by correct allocation of these to the corresponding BOMsTo deputize the Production Manager in their absence, and day to day support to:Ensuring the workforce and you comply with HSE and PPE regulations, always, as set out by the Company policyLead, motivate, control, and monitor general operatives on all shifts to ensure production flow and efficiencies are maintained at agreed levels and agreed delivery dates are met.Ensure production interruptions and stoppages are kept to a minimum as a result of absences of employees.Ensure output of blasting and coating activities meet the requirements of the quality system.Ensure shift daily quality, and performance sheets are completed on time and accurately.Ensure production packs details are reviewed and understood by workforce on a shift-to-shift basis.Ensure good housekeeping and maintenance is adopted and site is maintained to agreed levels.Ensure Grievance and Disciplinary Policies are adhered to and escalate any issues.Assist with "Back to Work" interviews following any absence.SKILLS & EXPEREINCEExperienced working supervisor in industrial coating with proven knowledge of relevant coating processesExperience of spraying and grit blasting preferred in a metal based industrial companyKnowledge of SAPHave normal color vision, good practical skills and physically fitKnowledge of ISO9001 and AS9001COSHH trainedNumerical and attention to detail accuracyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsForklift Truck LicenseKEY COMPETENCIESCommunication and InfluenceCan have their views and ideas clearly understood and respected by the wider team.A high level of communication capability is critical to the success of this role.An ability to communicate at all levels of organisation is essential.A proven ability to create, embed and influence the company culture towards engagement with quality & compliance is essential.Planning and OrganisingTask driven and organised, the Operations Supervisor must be extremely powerful in prioritisation of work.
