Job Description

European Business Development ManagerNorth West Based or Remote Working£40,000 (OTE up to £80,000)Are you a solution-led Sales and Business Development professional with experience selling technical or bespoke products and servicesThis is a fantastic Business Development role working for an established SME, enjoying significant growth and continued success!Although their Head Office is based in Greater Manchester, UK, this exciting role has a European-wide remit, and so remote working will also be considered for applicants based outside of the local area.What will the role involve You will be responsible for business development and sales across a Pharmaceutical / Clinical Trials customer base, researching, identifying, generating, and driving business opportunities, with the assistance of a sales support team.You will establish and maintain trusted relationships with influencers at multiple levels, and by becoming an expert in conveying the business products and services, you will recommend solutions based on individual customer requirements.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities in order to expand business and increase profitability, achieving growth and sales targets
  • Presenting and selling company products and services to new and existing customers
  • Generating sales meetings and building business relationships within existing and new accounts
  • Actively leading the business development process for assigned accounts
  • Attending international events and exhibitions
  • Pursuing Approved Vendor Status, MSAs, and Preferred Vendor Status
  • Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan for all accounts
Ideal Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a similar business development or technical sales role
  • Demonstrable success in generating new sales and business opportunities within a professional B2B environment
  • A consultative approach, ideally with experience of selling bespoke services and/or customer solutions
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent listening skills and an ability to understand clients needs
  • Proven relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Driven, ambitious and energetic, with a willingness to thrive in a start-up style atmosphere
