EPOS Engineer

Rapid Resource are looking for a number of experienced Retail & Hospitality Engineers to be part of our expanding Team working on behalf of NCR.You will be required to carry out software & hardware installation on Retail and Hospitality systems as well as working on Self Service Checkouts.NCR Corporation, previously known as National Cash Register, is an American software, managed and professional services, consulting and technology company. It manufactures self-service kiosks, point-of-sale terminals,automated teller machines, check processing systems, and barcode scanners.The requirement is on a contract basis operating via an Umbrella Company (Rapid can assist with this). Payment is made weekly.Shifts are allocated on a weekly basis. We cannot guarantee you will be working 5 days a week. However, with a number of large projects commencing we anticipate the work volume to be very high.Shift types are varied so you must be willing to work either a Day Shift or a Night Shift. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are paramount. Please bear this in mind when applying.Full Training will be given.You must have your own vehicle with your own tools and a valid ECS Card or CSCS Card. Rapid can assist in you obtaining a card.A pre-screening employment assessment is carried out prior to you commencing work for Rapid/NCR.**IT hardware/software experience is required to be considered for this role.Previous experience working with well-known hospitality chains & food chains (Supermarkets) would be an advantage.Main Responsibilities·Carrying out Installations of hardware and software·Provide a high level of customer care·Complete all paperwork accurately and on time·Ensure all work is completed to a high standard·Working on a flexible shift pattern including nights and weekends·Liaising with senior engineers and management·Must be willing to travel·Trouble shooting issue on site as and when required·Aid other trades to complete installations in a timely manner.·Manage travel and work time to be on site when required.Skills & Experience·Full driving licence + you must have your own vehicle to be considered for this role.·Own tools - (including a windows laptop)·CSCS or ECS card·Good IT Skills·Previous experience of repairing/working with IT hardware is essential·Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed written instructions.·Good communication skills (able to accurately report issues)·Must be able to logically fault find and work through issues·Experience of computer or EPOS hardware, in an installation or maintenance role is essential.Working Environment·May require frequent prolonged travel, carrying and lifting a tool kit/parts of varying weights (1 - 20KG)·May require bending/squatting, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods.·Assuming cramped/unusual positions, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, bending, stooping and squatting.·Function under stress and engage in interpersonal relations (i.e. heavy work load, potentially in front of customer management)Interviews will be held on-lineThe Training Programme will run at Holford Way, Birmingham B6 7AX.An allowance is paid during the Training.Rates are paid according to the work being carried out and the duration of the shift.Full rates will be given to shortlisted candidates.8 hour day rate: £122.50Contract length: 6 monthsSalary: £122.00-£225.00 per dayApplicants must have proven EPOS experience to be considered for this role.Job Types: Fixed term contract, Zero hours contractContract length: 6 monthsSalary: £122.00-£225.00 per dayShift types are:
