Job Description

What youll be doing:

  • Working directly for the Director of Next Generation Design.
  • Partner with Smart DCC, Customer & Regulatory stakeholders to align with business/network drivers and product strategy across various lines of businesses, and applies service-oriented architecture, micro-services architecture patterns and principles to deliver enterprise architecture artefacts and strategy.
  • Develop and communicate Smart DCCs Technology strategy that increases enterprise agility, business and operational efficiency system and process efficiencies and maximizes ROI on our technology assets.
  • Understand the current or "as is" state of the IT architecture and the path required to move this to the future "to be" state recognising that this target will constantly be moving away.
  • Develop, deliver and communicate architectural artefacts for implementation and execution from ideation through roll out across programs, solutions in a Evolutionary Agile environment.
  • Track industry trends and leverages them to drive innovation and solution excellence across domain specialism. Support activities, including research and prototyping, understanding applicability and scope, and assessing the maturity of innovative new technologies.
  • In coordination and collaboration with other Enterprise Architects & the Infrastructure Domain Team, you will define the Public Cloud and On-Prem Standard Operating Environment, DevOps and CI-CD standards, and associated tools / platforms / frameworks for the portfolio.
  • Drive Proof-of-Concepts and implementation, with hands-on involvement for emerging technologies, new standard operating environment, such as build deployment automated pipeline, build automated next gen CI-CD pipelines, partnering with Domain/Product Teams, build and integrate new technologies e.g. containers enabling multi-cloud and preventing cloud provider monopolistic behaviours
  • Understand the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for all of the elements of the architecture and use this to influence hosting and application development architectures
  • Represent Smart DCC externally in conferences/summits, build partnership with start-ups and other external companies to understand product offerings and how we can integrate and benefits to Smart DCC.
  • What were looking for:
  • Ability to break down complex topics into simple to digest information and data points, adjusted to audiences at various levels.
  • Ability to create system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence and UML diagrams, inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them.
  • Preferably experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams influencing key stakeholders across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • TOGAF or similar certification.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, planning and execution skills
  • Experience with technology principles in multiple domains (e.g wireless networks, Edge computing, Infrastructure, Data & Integration, Security). Successful recent experience in technology engineering/architecture in large IOT network deployments, SME knowledge in one or multiple DCC domains.
  • Experience or deep desire to develop technical skills in one or more of the following: HVLL, both synchronous and asynchronous invocation patterns. Docker Container Orchestration with Kubernetes (e.g. AWS), Configuration management (e.g. Chef, Puppet, or Ansible), Cloud orchestration (e.g. Cloud Formation, Terraform, Scalr, BOSH, etc,), Cloud Security technology and best practices using AWS Security Groups, IAM/S3 Policy, Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
  • Authentication and Authorization technologies (e.g. LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory)
  • Authentication and Authorization protocols (e.g. OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML)
  • Design / Development skills in cloud native applications, using various technologies (e.g. Spring Boot, Java, NodeJs, Ruby, GO, .Net), utilizing microservices design
  • Experience with application build automation tools like Apache Maven, Jenkins, Concourse, and Git supporting continuous integration / continuous deployment capabilities (CI / CD)
  • Agile / Scrum methodology
