Job Description

Engineering Manager - Manchester - FMCG- Up to £50,000About the CompanyOur client is an established and leading FMCG manufacturing business based in Manchester. They are now looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to provide strategic and practical management support in the development and maintenance of engineering systems,ensuring all plant equipment is fully maintained, is in optimum condition and will run efficiently to ensure production requirements are met.Engineering Manager- The Rewards

Engineering Manager - Requirements
  • Apprentice trained / time served engineer or qualified to HND level with a proven track record of management
  • Minimum 5 years management experience within a food manufacturing process environment
  • Ideally trained to a minimum Green Belt level in Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Recognised H&S qualification
  • Knowledge and hands on understanding of SAP would be beneficial
Engineering Manager - Responsibilities
  • Ensure all plant equipment is fully maintained, is in optimum condition, and will run efficiently to ensure production requirements are met
  • Develop training methods, plans, and maintaining equipment knowledge and standards within the Factory
  • Ensuring the Engineering team are kept abreast of changes affecting the site and localised developments
  • Ensure the Engineering management motivate and organise their teams to provide the best support to the Production teams on daily basis
  • Ensure a complete Preventative Maintenance system for all manufacturing and service equipment is in place and managed weekly
  • Plan and control all overhauls of plant and services
  • Prepare and recommend annual Labour and overheads departmental budgets and subsequently controlling expenditure within the agreed parameters
  • Be actively involved in the maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 accreditation in conjunction with other members of the Management team
  • Keep the Manufacturing management team and other departmental Managers up to date on technological developments which could improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure that health, safety and hygiene legislation is adhered to in all the departments of the Factory in compliance with Company and legal requirements
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture by promoting and managing technical and equipment development at all levels in the Factory
  • Maintain HACCP within the business and ensure employees conform to specified procedures and standards
  • Monitor and measure the Manufacturing performance to ensure continuous improvement is a daily initiative
  • Deputise for the Manufacturing Manager in their absence
  • Effectively manage the Engineering department
  • When applicable, take part in customer and third party external audits on site
  • Investigate causes of issues within the department and implement corrective actions
  • Assist with online trials and new product development
