We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to mentor and support our machine design team. You’ll lead the way in concept design, prototyping, and special projects. As our Electrical Design Engineer you’ll work with, and mentor our talented team, optimising existing Machine Designs and innovating on new products. You’ll head up our Special Projects functionto design integrated solutions that can be integrated into and improve our existing manufacturing process.It’s a very varied role and will include: · Concept design creation for new projects· Lead improvements in design quality & efficiency · Drive on time delivery & quality improvements· Mentoring and supporting the Technical department & Sales team with your knowledge and expertise.You’ll also be the ‘go to’ person for the creation of estimates and project requirements, enabling accurate project viability decisions.PERSON SPECIFICATION: Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Design, Design Engineer, Product Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Engineer.You MUST have a proven track record as a qualified Electrical Design Engineer. We’re in the cranes and lifting equipment sector, but we’re open on electrical design background, so your experience could come from any of the following:· Industrial Capital equipment / Roller Door design· Material Handling / Forklift / Hoists· Plant / Automotive· Robotics / AutomationRegardless of your background you’ll need to bring a demonstrable experience of Machine Design using CAD systems, including the creation of detailed electrical schematics. It’s highly likely that you’ll have knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives and thatyou’re a great problem solver, with a solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).Just as importantly you’ll work well as a part of a team and have the natural ability to mentor and influence others, as well as manage your own workload in a fast-paced environment.THE COMPANY:Established in the 1940’s, we’re a family run manufacturer & exporter of high value capital equipment.
