Job Description

One of the UK’s largest independently owned electric, electronic and mechanical engineering services companies, is seeking an experienced Electric Motor Winder.You will report into the Works Manager. The main purpose of the role is to service requirements from their customers, within their busy workshop. You will have a wide range of skills covering experience as Electric Motor Winder. Your duties will include

  • Additional knowledge of gearboxes, pumps, fan units and other assemblies that include electric motors.
  • Testing skills - both static and dynamic testing.
  • Dismantle and assemble motors and other rotating equipment
  • Repair and/or rewind AC and DC motors for a wide range of types and sizes up to 1MW
  • Attend site to test and analyse motors and generators in use, using standard industry equipment
  • To be on-call on a rota basis.
    • To apply for the role, you must have: -
  • Electric motor Winder experience is essential.
  • Dismantle and assemble motors and other rotating equipment
  • Experience in working with a range of equipment including electric motors, gearboxes pumps and fan units.
  • To be customer focused, able to work to deadlines.
  • Work as part of a team
  • Quality focused - ensuring work is to the highest standard.
  • Full clean driving licence is ideal.
  • What’s on offer: - Thriving business, with job security, career progression and working with a great team of people. Hours are 8.00 am - 4.30 pm Monday to Friday. (Saturday one weekend in four), with occasional overtime and on call during busy periods. The role comes with a minimum day shift rate of £13.20/hr (or higher depending on experience), + overtime at £19.80/hr weekdays and Saturdays, and £26.40/hr Sundays, leading to an OTE circa £35k - 40k+ pa, company pension, 4 weeks holiday & bank holidays.The company are happy to consider applications from candidates in the UK and the EU, so if you are a resourceful and experienced Electrical Fitter or Winding Engineer wanting to work in a busy and stable company, and have the experience mentioned above, please apply wed like to hear from you.
