End Date Saturday 01 July 2023 Salary Range £85,255 - £100,300 We support agile working – click here for more information on agile working options.Agile Working Options Hybrid Working Job Description Summary A DevOps Engineer with a solid IT background, expert skills in DevOps Engineering and be able to define DevOps strategy in the bounds of LBG. They will be an advocate for Engineering, providing a voice to engineers within the teams, identifying and supportingtheir teams in resolution of impediments and issues as well as continually developing themselves with industry best practice and tooling used across their DevOps team. This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertisewithin a feature team and great passion for coaching and developing people in a “player-coach” model. They will also lead and participate in Engineering Guilds and Working Groups to actively promote the DevOps brand in LBG. Job DescriptionSALARY: £85,255–100,300LOCATION: Manchester or BristolWORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.About this opportunityYou’ll be embedded in the Data and Machine Learning Platform team focused on our Data Migrations Programme, working to create and deliver a new data analytics platform within Google Cloud and migrate existing workloads from on-prem to the cloud.Our focus is on building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems and providing mentorship to other teams, so they can be self-sufficient on public cloud. In order to secure an interview for this role, youll need to demonstrate experience the followingas a minimum:• Very strong DevOps background coupled with demonstrable leadership experience• Expertise in tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, Nexus, and Git• Kubernetes• Experience programming in at least two (but not all!) of the following languages: Java, Groovy, Scala, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell or Bash/Shell• Google Cloud technologies such as BigQuery, Data Proc, Data Catalog, Data Plex, Cloud Composer• Provisioning components and services such as Helm TemplatesAnd any experience of these would be really useful• CI/CD Automation for Build & Release (Important to have experience in 1 or more tooling solutions)• Automated Unit/Integration/Load/Performance Testing• Observability, Logging, Monitoring & Alerting• Container Image Management & Security• Networking• API Gateway Management• IAM - Identity & Access Management• Cloud SecurityAbout working for usOur focus is to ensure were inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.
