DevOps Engineer - Department for Work and PensionsLocation: ManchesterSalary: £85,000We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Department for Work and Pensions team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled professionals in a fast-paced environment.As the DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining applications and services in the departments cloud environment. You will also be expected to create and maintain operational procedures and processes for the deploymentand maintenance of applications and services.Responsibilities:* Design and implement DevOps solutions for the departments cloud environment* Develop, deploy and maintain applications and services in the cloud* Monitor and maintain the security and performance of applications and services* Create and maintain operational procedures and processes for the deployment and maintenance of applications and services* Identify and troubleshoot issues with applications and services* Work with other teams to ensure the successful operation and maintenance of the cloud environment* Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures* Provide technical guidance and support to other teams* Participate in the design and development of new features and services* Manage and monitor the performance of applications and services* Analyse and report on the performance of applications and services* Automate processes where necessaryTechnical Skills Required:* Expert knowledge of DevOps principles and practices* Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure* Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Bash* Experience with version control tools such as Git* Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet* Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools* Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes* Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk and ELK* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills* Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsKeywords: Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Specialist, DevOps Specialist, Cloud Architect, DevOps Architect, Cloud Administrator, DevOps Administrator.
