Job Description

DEVELOPMENT UNDERWRITERFLEXIBLE LOCATION - MANCHESTER, LIVERPOOL, BIRMINGHAM OR SURROUNDING AREAS£40,000 - £50,000 PLUS BENEFITSAre you an experienced and highly personable Underwriter seeking a new and interesting role If so, this Development Underwriter opportunity could be the perfect one for you!THE ROLE:As Development Underwriter, you will play your part in developing our clients scheme business portfolio, helping to drive business forward through winning new clients and renewal retention of existing clients.This position will provide you a delegated underwriting authority from our clients scheme partner, whilst also being required to negotiate and place more complex risks.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Serving in the delivery of the teams scheme portfolio budget
  • Taking responsibility for sales, retentions and cross-selling to ensure insurance needs are met
  • Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients
  • As senior member of the team, you will also be required to mentor more junior members of the team to aid their knowledge and development
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
  • Proven background and experience in underwriting and managing professional risks. Insurance Broking experience will be equally considered.
  • An understanding of scheme requirements and Professional Indemnity is important
  • Have an innovative and solution driven mindset along with a strong can do attitude
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills through different methods including face to face, virtual meetings and written communication
  • A highly personable individual with a clear focus on building, developing and maintain solid relationships with clients and stakeholders
OVERVIEW:This is an extremely interesting and varied role working for a leading insurance brokerage as Development Underwriter, with the location for this position being entirely flexible across Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham or surrounding areas.
