The is an environment where new perspectives are encouraged, where resilience, fresh ideas and different opinions are valued.Role DescriptionThis role is a Developer role in the Digital & Data Factory, reporting to the Development Lead API/Platform. This is essential to the delivery of the future of the Lloyds and delivery capabilities within the Digital domain.The role is accountable for the development and engineering of software applications and components to support the delivery of digital product and capabilities as part of the transformation of Lloyds described in The Future at LloydsKey Responsibilities

  • Working within an Agile product team to provide in the delivery of digital software products and service
  • Support and help drive the adoption of test-driven and behaviour-driven development frameworks, along with continuous delivery and automation testing
  • Ensure the quality of code is met through the use of unit, integration and acceptance testing and perform appropriate tuning/refactoring to ensure the system performs to its specification
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team in line with project/product goals and objectives.
  • Conduct and promote the use of peer reviews to provide feedback to developers within the team Identify improvement areas in the delivery process and make recommendations
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of Java 8 and above
  • Strong understanding of API development lifecycle with working experience in API Gateways and Open API Specification 3.0/Swagger
  • Strong understanding AWS
  • Experience in building cloud-native microservices using frameworks like Micronaut, Spring Boot
  • Experience in building cloud-native microservices using container workloads based on Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and practices like Jenkins X, BuildKite, CircleCI
  • Experience in build and dependency management tools and frameworks like Gradle, Maven
  • Experience in automated testing frameworks like Junit, TestNg, and mocking and stubbing frameworks like Mockito and Wiremock
  • Experience of working in event-based architectures using Apache Kafka
  • Experience in integration with 3rd parties using different formats and patterns
  • Experience in rule engine based development using tools and frameworks like Flowable, Drools
  • Experience in security practices for back-end development using tools and frameworks like SonarQube, OWASP
  • General knowledge of common challenges in back-end development (eg: memory allocation, garbage collection, etc).
Experience
  • Experience of working within cross-functional Agile teams
  • Experience of working within an Agile delivery framework (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
