Job Description

DESIGN ENGINEERINDUSTRY LEADING MANUFACTURING BUSINESS£25,000 - £30,000 + EXCELLENT BENEFITSOur client, a highly regarded manufacturing business that provide an extensive portfolio of bespoke products to a global customer base across multiple industries.And we are looking for an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer to join their fast growing team!RoleDesign Manager, the Design Engineer will be an integral part of the team and be given the opportunity to get involved immediately in significant projects. The successful applicant will be working with a range of materials including piping, valves, chemical, petro chemical, pharm and other associated equipmentIn this interesting and varied role, the Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • all design stages of a product, including research, conceptual design, development, final approval and manufacture right through to production.
  • Attention to detail in creating designs for ease of manufacture and accuracy of technical drawings.
  • Produce fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials and Cutting Lists for the manufacturing team.
  • Continually identifying, implementing, monitoring and updating processes and practices to ensure a high standard of consistency with design philosophies.
  • provide input to the design and development of new products, analyse existing products and identify areas to improve design and reduce costs
  • Customer and supplier liaison in order to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the desired standard
    • The PersonAs Design engineer, you will need to be highly motivated and career focused. On top of being a strong communicator and well organised, key criteria for the role will include;
  • 2 years+ Mechanical Design experience (after graduation) in a technical role within an engineered products environment.
  • AutoCAD or other CAD package competent. 3D modelling (SolidWorks) would be useful.
  • Understanding of computerised engineering data - bills of materials, routings etc
  • Background industry - preferably a manufacturing company involved in engineered products
  • Educated to HNC or above in relevant discipline
  • The successful candidate will be reliable, resilient, a completer and efficient, with a comprehensive understanding of the design process and also manufacturing methods
