Job Description

Derivatives Ops SpecialistManchester, Hybrid Setting (3 days a week in the office, 2 days a week WFH)23-week initial contract (Scope to extend)£16.77 per hour, PAYEMy high-profile banking client is looking for a Derivatives Ops Specialist to come and join their Middle Office team on a 23-week initial contract. The role will be based in our clients Manchester office, under a hybrid setting of 3 days a week in the office,2 days a week working from home.About the role:The Derivatives Ops Specialist is the primary daily contact for all clients and investment managers trading derivative products. The Derivatives Ops Specialist provides professional promote through timely and accurate processing of derivative cash and tradeinstructions. Cash and trade activity includes exchange-traded and OTC derivatives for futures, currency forwards (foreign exchange), options and swaps.Assignment:

  • Calculate the daily gain/loss on futures contracts (mark-to-market).
  • Investigate when collateral is needed for option trades.
  • Reconcile currency balances for net forward settlements.
  • Validate instructions and conduct research to obtain all information to post the transactions to the custody and accounting systems.
  • Coordinate with the Service Delivery accounting teams to ensure accurate client financial statements.
  • Promote all daily-valued clients trading futures, by performing additional end-of-day processing customized by client.
  • Work closely with the Service Delivery accounting teams to complete the daily valuations.
  • Monitor all fails and overdrafts, work to resolve outstanding exceptions the next day and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Provide promoting work documentation for all internal quality checks, external reconcilements, and industry audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree with a concentration in Business, Finance, Accounting, or applicable work experience.
  • Prior experience with derivative financial instruments.
  • Must exhibit excellent IT Skills, with a high level of proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail.
