Job Description

Deputy Finance Director required to join an NHS organisation based in the North West. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Deputy Finance Director to join their dynamic and growing team on a full-time, fixed term basis.As the Deputy Finance Director you will have day to day responsibility for providing effective, professional and managerial leadership to the Finance function, alongside the various duties below:Key responsibilities of the Deputy Finance Director

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to agree effective audit plans based on risk assessments
  • Deliver and interpret strategic financial policies and manage the implementation of these
  • Provide expertise in the pricing of tenders
  • Work alongside the Director of Finance to ensure budgetary, accounting and costing systems operate to the highest standards
  • Aid in the production of monthly finance reports for the Board
  • Provide leadership, coaching and personal/technical development to all staff
  • Responsibility for staff management including recruitment, briefings and appraisals
Required skills and experience of the Deputy Finance Director
  • CCAB qualified (essential)
  • Previous NHS experience (desirable)
  • Significant experience working at a senior level in a complex organisation
  • Experience of senior level external negotiations
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates initiative whilst able to take direction
