Job Description

As Demand Planner, you will develop robust forecast models working collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive service levels & minimise wastage level and assist in facilitating and implementing the monthly S&OP process.Client DetailsIve partnered up with a multi-national food manufacturing business in Manchester.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with a highly recognisable brand.DescriptionThe Demand Planner will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide Consensus sales forecast of future demand requirements, working collaboratively with Sales, Commercial and external customer teams.
  • Ensure Demand forecasting is based on the appropriate mix of statistical forecasts based on history, and market intelligence, and evaluate forecast results, including promotional analysis.
  • Investigate and resolve significant variances, and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning team in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning
  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of the demand planning team
  • Use and maintain the Demand Planning software (Infor) as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Create statistical forecasts:
  • Gather, analyse and validate data
  • Execute statistical modelling software
  • Review resulting statistical forecast model
  • Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting
  • Summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts
  • Recommend adjustments for operational forecast
  • Facilitate and manage demand planning/commercial meetings
  • Maintain demand planning system and software
  • Enter and modify data and ensure the correctness of product hierarchy
  • Monitor trends in forecast error
  • Identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence
  • Prepare and maintain relevant demand planning reports
ProfileThe successful candidate for the Demand Planner role will ideally have the following key skills & qualities:
  • Experience in Demand Planning/Forecasting
  • Background in manufacturing (preferably FMCG)
  • Evidence of capability to build positive, powerful working relationships within team environment
  • Positive attitude to change
  • Numerate, analytical
  • Ability to Influence at all levels
  • Exception identification & management
  • SAP user
  • Proficient on Microsoft Excel
Job Offer
