This role being recruited for is required to lead the technical delivery of our cloud-only strategy. We have 4 data centres - 2 in US and 2 in UK. Our stated target is to be cloud -only by 2027 by migrating/transforming all on-prem applications to the cloud. The initial focus of the role will be do deliver our exit out of the our US Datacentres in Lansing. The role holder will lead the "Lansing Exit delivery Engine". This will be a team of about 100-150 people across 8-10 squads, spanning all our delivery partners and internal teams. These teams need to be brought together to deliver all applications, databases and Middleware + data resident in our US datacentres before the expiry of our leases in the US. The programme will be a 24 month programme and will pivot to the UK exit delivery post that. As the Lead of the Delivery Engine:

• Work with all the workstream leads to build a delivery plan
• Ensure on timely delivery of all agreed migrations.
• Monitoring and scheduling of all delivery teams.
• Ensure teams maintain focus on quality and continuous delivery.
• Reporting and documentation to programme and all audit requirements.
• Own and resolve all issues and barriers to delivery.
• Prioritise resources to meet the programme outcomes.
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Own and maintain relationship with Business Unit/App Owners.
• Manage 3rd party relationships and ensure resourcing needs are met.
• Ensure all parties are strategically aligned.

The role requires close collaboration with transformation programmes, business stakeholders, business architects, solution architects, product managers and delivery teams across M&G Plc and third parties. Technical requirements of the role will ideally include extensive and demonstrable knowledge of the following:

• programme management experience
• programme delivery and execution
• deep infrastructure knowledge (on-premise and cloud);
• deep classical data centre expertise;
• logical storage and networking expertise;
• modelling and design tooling;
• agile project delivery methodologies;
• devOps practises and tooling to enable collaboration and automation;
• designing solutions based on cloud technologies;
• designing for digital security;
• best practice digital design patterns;
• mobile app development and deployment;
• micro-services and containerisation;
• API management technologies.

The following skills / experience are also desirable:

• broad knowledge and experience of Azure capabilities;
• data modelling and design;
• application monitoring tools and techniques;
• application performance tuning;
• a solid understanding of relevant technology trends;
• knowledge of Financial Services products and services;
• technology specific to Financial Services e.g. policy admin, asset management, calculations, advice compliance and actuarial modelling systems
