Welcome to AWAZE �To deliver on our promise of "everyday amazing holidays", were investing heavily in new tech to UNIFY our brands, TRANSFORM the experience of our Guests & Owners and CREATE something special for the vacation rentals market.Home to some of the continents most trusted travel brands, including Cottages.com, Hoseasons and Novasol, our bookings were up 1000% year on year in February, and its safe to say that everybody has definitely had enough of staying at homeand cantwait to get away for a family staycation .Weve hired some great people since October (50+) and were continuing to move full steam ahead with our growth plans with further key hires to be made within our engineering teams for what is promising to be an amazing year ahead!Do you fancy joining us on our journey within our Data Engineering teamRole: Data Engineer What youll be doing:This is an opportunity for you to work within a small dedicated data engineering team responsible for driving the data agenda as it becomes front and centre of our growth plans.Were on a super exciting journey and what you see today (SQL) is definitely not what you will see tomorrow as we start leveraging AWS technologies to drive our group businesses to the next level.You will:

  • Engineer and identify improvements to the logic and processes across our core applications such as our Bookings and Reservations platform, our Revenue Management system, and our Data Warehouses.
  • Deliver frequent, incremental, value-added iterations of assets across our data estate.
  • Allow our core systems to consume and process more information quicker, and more effectively.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL, stored procedures, reports, data integrations and data migrations.
  • Undertake regular review and maintenance of our data.
  • Liaise with Data Analysis and Science team in reviewing our systems user overrides to analyse their effectiveness and identify any improvements to pricing logic.
  • Work to harmonise data logic where they diverge between brands.
  • Support the wider engineering and product team by enabling a data driven approach in review of new development requests.
  • Provide and maintain data access tools.
Who are youWere looking for a Data Engineer, with an interest in Data Science and experienced with large datasets writing high quality, maintainable SQL and offering several years experience of data lake and data warehouse delivery.Sound like you Youll also have:
  • Python & R
  • SQL Server (2016 preferred)
  • T-SQL (stored procs, udfs, transactions)
  • Performance tuning and query optimisation (partitioning, indexing, merge/loop/hash joins, query hints)
  • Data modelling and design
  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to an advanced level (Advantageous)
