Job Description

Becoming a Data Architect with Smart DCC:Fantastic opportunity to secure an initial 6 months day rate contract as a Data Architect based from Manchester with substantial remote working. The Data Architect will report to the Design Lead within the CTO division and provide the understanding regardingdataflow and data usage and will work within a DCC programme to support all their data needs.What youll be doing:Translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data flows, integrations, transformations, and data repositoriesDefine and support the Data Architecture framework, standards and principles, including modelling, metadata, security and reference dataDefine data flows, i.e., which parts of the organisation generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transitionCollaborate and coordinate with multiple stakeholders within DCC and our external service providers Organizes data at the macro level.Organize data at the micro level and design data models for new applications.Provide a logical data model as a standard for the golden source and for consuming applications to inherit.What were looking for:

  • Business analysis skills with a proven track record of successful business systems development in a wide variety of project roles, including stakeholder and industry engagement.
  • Practitioner of Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical) using standard notation (e.g.: IE, IDEF1X, UML etc) alongside programming Skills like SQL, Python and Java
  • Proven experience in the application of data definition standards e.g., ISO/IEC 11179 and data integration standards e.g., OAGIS
  • Experience of producing Data/ Solution Architecture artefacts using tools like BizzDesign, ErWin, PowerDesigner.
  • Experience of Architecting/Designing Data solution on Cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS)
  • Demonstratable in-depth understanding of the management of data quality, data lineage obtained in several organisations applying differing forms of data governance
  • Knowledge of Security principles and policies especially around Data Security, Data Privacy & GDPR
  • Qualified architect practitioner (TOGAF, BCS ESA, Archimate or equivalent)
