We currently require a Data Analyst’ for an Initial Temporary Contract based in Manchester.Position Details: • Initially 3 Months temporary contract (Likely to be on-going)• Full-time position: 37 Hours per Week• Working hours: 8.00-16.00, Monday-Friday• To design, collate, analyse, and interpret data and information from various sources using a range of techniques to identify patterns and trends to provide support to divisions and branches, highlighting performance issues and concerns for Force strategic forums• To produce and publish performance data in a variety of formats, including briefing papers, written reports and presentations detailing the findings of performance analysis and research, including making recommendations, where appropriate, for a range of audiences, both internal and external to GMP• To produce appropriate analytical products utilising qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques and methodologies and in accordance with the National Intelligence Model, where appropriate• To produce analytical products that go beyond the facts and provide added value. Products should include expert analytical opinion, inductive logic and strong, specific and valuable inferences and recommendations• To develop and maintain a strong working relationship with both analytical managers and clients, and to be actively involved in the analytical commissioning process, including the establishment and development of terms of reference, where applicable.Requirements:• GCSE (grade C Maths and English) and two A Levels or equivalent, or research experience• Successful completion of the National Intelligence Analysis Training course; i2 Notebook course• Carried out duties / work involving research, analytical tasks including analysis of information, monitoring patterns and trends and associated clerical / administrative functions• Involved in the preparation/presentation of reports, produced statistical data, charts, diagrams etc• Carried out duties/tasks relevant to the post including checking/ recording/ inputting retrieving information and associated filing• Research experience including any undertaken as part of academic study e.g. thesis or dissertation; or previous work experience• To have awareness of relevant legislation that affects the day to day analytical processes in order to ensure compliance with the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA), European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), Data Protection Act and Criminal Procedures and Investigation Act, and UK / EU Trade Agreement• In depth knowledge of analytical IT solutions, Database and Data Mining software and statistical solutions• To be fully conversant with the National Intelligence ModelApply online or contact Sammi Barbour at Peel Solutions for more information.
