This employer is a growing IT managed service provider (MSP) based in central Manchester with clients nationwide. Founded early in 2016, they serve a range of clients in the SMB market, with a focus on financial services and other sectors that demand excellence in their IT service.They pride themselves that their team provides a high standard of responsive and proactive support that all of their customers rave about.Job Role- Providing proactive & reactive end user support for security related matters, e.g. InTune, MFA, antispam, eDiscovery, antivirus- Supporting ongoing management of security related services used to support clients - Supporting and delivering end user awareness & application training- Responding to monitoring alerts & automated recommendations- Responsible for production and ongoing improvement of SOPs- Supporting audit of internal and external systems and assessments including Cyber Essentials and ISO27001- Contributing to and maintaining our internal knowledge base- Working with third party vendors and others to resolve issues- Providing general IT support to augment the primary support team as requiredRequired skillsPersonal- Excellent customer service skills - in person, on the phone and email- A self-starter who is at home working individually and as part of a small team- A user-focused approach, putting end-users at the centre of your work- High standard of written and spoken English with excellent attention to detail- A keen learner with interest in new technologies and industry trends- Good problem-solving skills using a range of sources- Possess strong analytical skills and ability to maintain calmness and being diplomatic under stressful situations- Strong multitasking skills to be able to effectively manage multiple activities, across multiple clientsEducation- A-levels or above, or strong experience coupled with a relevant industry certification- English & Maths GCSE grade C and above (or equivalent) essentialExperience- Minimum 5 years IT support experience, with 2 years+ at an MSP- Experience in a security focused role or significant security-related responsibilitiesTechnical SkillsEssential- Understanding of fundamental IT security & data protection principles, common threats, vulnerabilities, prevention techniques & countermeasures- Experience supporting & securing M365 & Azure services, Windows Server, Windows 10 and iOS devices- Configuration and monitoring of security technologies including AV, email/web filtering & firewalls- Understanding of core networking principles (switching, routing, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VLANs, VPN)- PowerShell scriptingDesirable- CompTIA Security+- Vulnerability scanning toolsHours: 0830-1730 Mon-Fri. Occasional out of hours work and travel requiredTravel: Their clients are based nationwide, mainly in Greater Manchester & Central London. Site visits will be required with occasional overnight staysCompany laptop and Apple iPhone provided
