Job Description

The purpose of the Customer Insights Manager role is to provide commercial analysis and market insights which will help to shape, influence and underpin this global iconic brands retail strategy. The role will involve taking a global outlook of potential new target markets, analysing huge amounts of data to create support models to create strategies around; product selection, product development, pricing can be set.Client DetailsThis global iconic brand, based in Manchester, is one of the most popular and successful sports teams in the world, playing one of the most popular spectator sports on Earth. Their large, passionate community provides the brand with a worldwide platform to generate significant revenue from multiple sources, including sponsorship, merchandising, product licensing, new media & mobile and broadcasting.DescriptionThe Customer Insights Manager will be responsible for the following:-

  • Provide strategic development support to the retail and merchandising business
  • Analyse multiple large data sets to interrogate and evaluate areas of opportunity, understand competitor activity and identify risks
  • Investigate and analyse potential new overseas markets, researching potential partners and report on critical market activity within proposed regions to understand specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Use modelling techniques to test scenarios within product development, market/regional activity, industry trends and innovation
  • Source and analyse relevant in-region data sets to establish optimal product set permutations and routes to market
  • Provide high level and detailed reporting packs to clearly outline commercialisation opportunities within new and existing markets.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the 3rd party vendor agreements to understand how to optimise commercial opportunities.
  • Support Business Development team in crafting partnerships, including contract analysis.
  • ProfileThe ideal candidate for the Customer Insights Manager position will have the following skills and experience:-
  • Strong understanding of the global retail market, ideally with an FMCG focus
  • Commercially astute, with a track record of turning analysis into strategic initiatives
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to see commercial opportunities
  • Proven research skills from a commercial, regional, economic, industry specific perspective
  • Highly numerate, with the ability to manipulate and interpret large quantities of data.
  • Proficient modelling skills, combined with the ability to present complex data in a simple manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
