Axon Moore once again has the privilege of recruiting for a high growth, construction business based in South Manchester who are looking to appoint an experienced and driven Credit Controller. The Credit Controller is responsible for ensuring customer invoices are raised in a timely and accurate manner and that payment is collected within terms. Working closely with commercial and project teams the Credit Controller will seek to maximise monthly invoicing to reduce levels of working capital and retentions held. The Credit Controller will assist the Credit Control Manager in undertaking daily banking activities, preparing the cash flow forecast, forecasting receipts based on information from customers and the business.The Role:The key responsibilities of the role will involve:• Raising of sales invoices in accordance with contracts and/or valuations and with regard to appropriate VAT legislation.• Ensuring all invoices are paid to terms, through development of relationships with customers and internally.• Posting all customer receipts and refunds. Banking of cheques.• Maximising invoicing through awareness of live projects, valuation and invoicing dates, retentions due and internal forecasts.• Assisting Credit Control Manager in Issue of KPI reports (debtors/negative cash/retentions) for cash flow meetings.• Month end reporting on overdue debt and retention KPIs.• Assisting Credit Control Manager in preparation of short-term cash flow forecast each week.• Assist Credit Control Manager in daily bank download and update of cash flow forecast.• Initial credit checking and recommendation of credit limit for new customers as part of Gateway 0 process. • Setting up customer accounts in Evision & iSite • Dealing with Audit queries as and when required.• Other ad-hoc duties to support smooth running of finance team.Desired Skills and Experience:• Sales ledger & credit control experience within construction industry.• Experience in chasing overdue debt through legal challenges• Working knowledge of E-vision.• Teamwork and relationship management with internal and external stakeholders• Pro-active nature and ability to manager own time and workload effectively.• Awareness of VAT legislation and specifically in construction industry.• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.• Ability to listen and appreciate impact of credit control on rest of finance team and business.
