Job Description

Position titleCorporate & Commercial Solicitor 3+ PQEDescriptionMy Manchester based niche firm are recruiting for an experienced Corporate & Commercial Solicitor to join their growing team.ResponsibilitiesServicing a loyal and growing national and international client base, duties include but are not limited to:

  • A broad range of corporate and commercial work such as general commercial contracts and terms of business, client/supplier agreements, merger/acquisitions, software development, hosting agreements and web-development agreements, data protection, IT/IP,franchising, and outsourcing agreements
  • Handle an array of commercial supply-chain contracts, distribution terms, and conditions (sale and purchase), franchise, agency, contract manufacturing including strategic planning advice
  • Handle mergers & acquisitions, disposals, private equity transactions, due diligence, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, reorganisations, corporate structures, and governance
  • Advise entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals with various business investments, private limited companies, SME and OMB type client
  • Undertake due diligence
  • Obtaining and reviewing evidence and statements
  • Ensuring efficient day to day progress of all matters, prioritising work as necessary, and keeping the client informed on progress
  • Provide general legal advice to the business as well as creating and improving processes to enhance the efficiency of the department
  • Advising the business on key legal matters such as data protection, consumer affairs, and intellectual property
  • Deliver engaging training, and present to legal and business colleagues as required
  • Make sure that SRA and other relevant regulations are adhered to
QualificationsSkills & Experience Required:
  • Previous experience advising on a broad range of corporate and commercial issues and disputes
  • Driven to create workable solutions for the commercial issues in the best interest of the clients
  • A strong desire to grow the department, a strong following would be advantageous
  • Manage a caseload unsupervised/with minimal supervision
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a passion to get stuck into a variety of work, including in areas which you are not currently familiar with
  • Great communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Excellent commercial judgment, organisational and people skills, with the ability to effectively manage, prioritise and inspire confidence
  • Strong IT skills, ability to learn how to use case management systems effectively
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercially aware
  • Minimum 3+ years PQE preferred
