Job Description

Tradewind are recruiting for a Communication Support Worker!Do you have prior experience supporting people with Hearing ImpairmentDo you have BSL Level 2 or aboveWe are looking for a Communication Support Worker / CSW / BSL TA to support Hearing Impaired pupils in south Manchester on a full time basis. Starting September 2022.Hours will be 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday to FridayPay up to £90/day depending on experience & qualification.Supporting primary or secondary students across 2 locations. A high school in Moss Side & a primary school in Longsight.Ideally you will have some prior experience supporting children or young adults with Hearing Impairment and have at least BSL L2.You will be supporting students Hearing Impairment within mainstream school settings including a primary school and a secondary school. Both have a Hearing Impairment classes that cater for their HI pupils as well as dedicated & skilled teaching and supportstaff.You will be required to support with understanding and comprehension as well provide pastoral, social, emotional and behavioural support. At times you may need to assist with note taking and scribing.To join us and be successful in this Communication Support Worker role, you will need to:

  • Have BSL L2 or above.
  • Have experience supporting children or young adults in some capacity in last 5 years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS Disclosure (or be happy to apply for a new one), Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.
  • Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
