What you will doWe have an exciting opportunity for a Fire and Gas Commissioning Engineer to join our Oil & Gas team based in our Manchester office. This role involves Commissioning and Servicing Fire & Gas Detection Systems on offshore installations and land-based sites,as part of our Detection and Control team.What we can offer

How you will do itAs a Fire & Gas Commissioning Engineer you will be part of a highly skilled team assigned to new and existing contracts within the Detection & Control division.Responsibilities will include:
  • Calibrating & testing equipment on site.
  • Implementing test procedures.
  • Interpreting Cause & Effect diagrams and procedures.
  • Investigating Problems and diagnosing and repairing faults.
  • Liaising with clients and installation project engineers.
  • Supervising engineers.
  • Writing reports and documentation.
  • Providing technical support.
  • Ensuring safe working conditions.
  • Training maintenance and operative staff.
What we look forEssentialElectrical Engineering experience.Must have previous experience working as a Fire & Gas Commissioning Engineer.Minimum HNC/HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.Experience in interpreting client’s technical specifications.Good working knowledge of Microsoft STD packages.Good working knowledge of Fire & Gas detection equipment.Good understanding of Software based systems.Experience of Tyco current Fire & Gas Detection Systems.Full UK Diving License.PreferredFS Eng (TUV certified).Experience of Legacy Wormald Fire & Gas Detection Panels.Ability to modify various software packages.Up to date Offshore survival & medical certificates.This role is primarily based onsite offshore and onshore, due to this Johnson Controls offer remote/hybrid working when not onsite. Ideally our new hire will be located close to a JCI hub office such as Manchester, Aberdeen, Norfolk however due to the natureof site work JCI will consider relevant candidates from across the UK.#LI-NT1#LI-Onsite
