Job Description

Are you a quantity surveyor or commercial manager with demonstrable experience running your own projects from a professional practice, developer or contractor background Are you familiar with residential and mixed use development schemesIf youre a team player who recognises the importance of collaboration both within and outside the business, then this could be an excellent opportunity for you!Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager and Commercial Director youll play a key role as part of the commercial team to deliver Procurement, Commercial Management and Risk Management to the wider Development directorate in the North & Central regions.Youll collaborate with others in the Development Departments, particularly with your Cost Planning, Project Management & Delivery colleagues, and establish yourself as a key operational resource. Supporting the project lead on specific schemes at pre-constructionand construction stages, on all commercial matters including consultant and contractor procurement, risk management, contractual matters, cost performance and monitoring, youll be fully supported by the Senior Commercial Manager and Commercial Director.As an excellent communicator, building solid relationships, engendering collaboration, trust and respect youll work with others to define mutual priorities and forge strategic relationships with main contractors and key subcontractors. Youll provide supportto the Partnerships and Land and Development Teams on Commercial matters, leading on delivery contract negotiations, Heads of Terms, Development Management Agreements, Building Contracts [JCT, NEC and other forms] and Joint Ventures.With a clear understanding and proven experience of the commercial issues, risks and benefits associated with construction youll proactively support the Delivery Team with regular monitoring of performance and fulfilment of contractual obligations. Usingyour contractual expertise in preparing, interpreting, negotiating and reviewing scheme documents youll track operational performance of suppliers, contractors and JV partners against contractual deliverables, identifying trends and exceptions.If you lead by example, are analytical, diplomatic and, committed with integrity, persistence and a hands on approach then we want to hear from you.
