Applications are invited for the above fixed term post at Saint Marys Hospital Oxford Road Campus, Manchester.Saint Mary’s Hospital Managed Clinical Service is part of Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), and provides care for women at the Oxford Road Campus and Wythenshawe Site. This post is based at the Oxford Road Campus which is a large teaching hospital which provides both secondary level care for its local population and tertiary level care for women across the North West of England. The workload is therefore varied and interesting. Services are based in a modern purpose-built facility.The post is aimed at a highly skilled and motivated applicant and offer the opportunity to undertake clinical research while maintaining clinical practice. The posts are 60% research and 40% clinical. The successful applicants will be expected to register for a higher degree with the University of Manchester, either an MPhil undertaken over 2 years or an MD over 3 years. The posts are suitable for trainees wishing to apply to undertake a period of Out of programme (research) pending approval from the responsible Postgraduate Dean. The posts are a fixed term appointment of one year extendable to up to 3 years depending on adequate academic progress.There is one post available. The start date would be April 2021.Two research projects are available: in the areas of Gynecological Oncology and Urogynaecology,. The successful candidate will express preference for which project they undertake.In addition to the research component there are clinical opportunities available in the applicants chosen field, together with general Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Applicants must be registered with the GMC and completed at least ST3 level training (or equivalent).
