Job Description

Clinical Negligence Paralegal / Nurse ParalegalManchester£25k-£25k Dependent Upon ExperienceThe Clinical Negligence Paralegal / Nurse Paralegal role requires you to put your medical and legal knowledge in to a client focused and rewarding role. You will be a methodical thinker who is able to deal efficiently with the challenging scenarios that can occur when handling medical negligence claims.Clinical Negligence Paralegal / Nurse Paralegal Skills and experience:

  • Strong interpersonal, team working and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good IT skills – we work in a paperless office, knowledge of Proclaim would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided
  • Medical records handling
  • Good knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector
  • Over 5+ years clinical experience in a broad range of specialities
  • Ability to hit KPI/targets
  • Research skills including knowledge of NICE and current and previous best practices and guidelines
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards to meet deadlines
    • Clinical Negligence Paralegal / Nurse Paralegal Main Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing of medical records and relevant documentation
  • Undertaking full collation of medical records
  • Sorting medical records
  • Indexing of medical records
  • Undertaking pagination of medical records both in hard copy and electronically.
  • Adding to or amending pagination bundles already prepared
  • Identifying missing medical records and requesting these from the relevant authorities.
  • Preparation of summaries of events, chronologies and analysis for instruction to experts with good knowledge surrounding breach of duty and causation
  • Researching medical conditions and standards of care.
