Job Description

Category Manager for a leading Food and Drink Supplier, suitable for someone with food/ FMCG experience who is looking to take ownership of the raw material category.Client DetailsMichael Page Procurement & Supply Chain are working with a highly successful Food and Drinks Group, as they look to recruit a Category Manager: Raw Materials, for their North West Operation.This opportunity comes as the business is continuing to grow and they are looking for a driven and passionate individual capable of managing pivotal and increasingly important category, delivering greater supply efficiencys, and improvements across supplierquality and sustainability.DescriptionThe Category Manager will strategically source raw materials (circa. £20million+ spend) to improve quality and provide for innovative opportunities at the lowest total cost of ownership:

  • Determine and own the category plans for complex, multiple raw material spends, sourcing insight from a broad base (customer, market, and supplier).
  • Implement and develop better supplier management strategies across a diverse portfolio of suppliers.
  • Investigate and develop new potential suppliers with a view of encouraging better competition and performance with this spend category
  • Drive contract management across new and existing suppliers
Support the business from a procurement perspective as they look to drive new products as they add to their existing strong portfolio of brands and productsProfileSuccessful candidates will possess:
  • Thorough understanding of procurement processes and category management
  • Previous experience in a category management role, ideally within food, drink or FMCG businesses
  • Experience of managing a raw material spend would be beneficial
  • Understanding of contract principles and clauses and be able to construct an interpret agreements
  • Youll have strong project leadership, with a proven track record of delivering cross-functional projects working with various teams.
  • You will be commercially aware with experience in a result-driven environment, ideally with responsibility for delivering a P&L.
  • Degree level qualification, ideally business related
  • Associate or student of CIPS, or working to CIPS qualification would be beneficial, but not essential
Job Offer
  • £40-55k, depending upon experience
  • Car/Car Allowance, Bonus, Pens, 25days+BH
  • Flexibility to WFH, circa. 2 days onsite
