Job Description

Are you an experienced Calibration Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunityAs a worldwide specialist in calibration and asset management services, our stated mission is to optimize the industrial performance of our different clients by enhancing their measurement processes. Starting in 1999, Trescal has grown massively covering a total of 25 countries worldwide… Would you like to be a part of our successWe are looking for an experienced Calibration Engineer to the calibration of customers equipment predominantly onsite but also at our Manchester facility. This role will be covering the Midlands and North West. As this role is a multisite role the person will be required to drive and a Trescal van will be supplied.What will I be responsible forJoining our team as a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking various calibrations to the correct procedures, instructions and specifications. Maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilizing EMS management systems. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Calibrating electrical, temperature or pressure measuring instrumentation to traceable and accredited standards.
  • Perform calibration at customer facilities using approved procedures and good metrology practice.
  • Ensure all certificates and records are completed and processed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and produce accurate calibration records enabling the production of calibration certificates.
  • Must have previous experience in one or more of the following equipment types:
  • Digital and analogue measuring devices such as Multimeter, Insulation Testers, Oscilloscopes, PSU, Counters, Pressure Equipment, Temperature Equipment.
  • Check completion dates and worksheet instructions to ensure work is completed on time.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on request.
  • Our ideal Calibration EngineerThe successful candidate will need to be flexible as there may be overtime and other duties not mentioned in this job description. With experience of working in a manufacturing environment, you will have a standard-level education, have the relevant qualifications or experience, be punctual, conscientious, keen and have a practical approach to work. You will also possess:
  • Ideally technical qualification such as HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or above with knowledge of calibration and UKAS certification preferred.
  • Alternatively, this role would suit an engineering graduate keen to specialise in calibration.
  • Preferably have knowledge of calibration practices and theories.
  • Knowledge in Windows-based and laboratory automation software.
  • Experience of working within Customer focused environment
  • Must be PC literate, (Word, Excel) as a minimum
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to work with the minimum of supervision & manage their own workload
  • The ability to understand / interpret circuit diagrams will be advantageous.
