Job Description

Job Title: BuyerLocation: North West Salary: Circa £40,000 plus bonusAdditional benefits: Monthly bonus (performance based), Car allowance, Phone.Are you an agile, self-motivated individual with a passion for hitting targets, building relationships and going that extra mile within a highly successful and growing businessDo you have experience working within scrap, manufacturing or recycling industriesIf so, my client would LOVE to speak with you!Our client is a market leading, scrap metal business. Operating at the top tier of the UK Metal Recycling industry, their forward-thinking modern approach has enabled significant growth. This well-established company is an internationally recognised brandwithin their sector with an excellent reputation for quality & service throughout their business.

  • About the role:Responsible for sourcing and buying non-ferrous scrap metals from wide a range of suppliers up and down the UK
  • Researching target market, analysing data and building relationships with suppliers.
  • Researching new markets and exploring new supply sources within the sector.
  • Identifying quality standards and ensuring that all products meet those standards.
  • Collating customer feedback.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to agree prices, quantities & collection schedules.
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure that all agreed contracts are serviced to the standards required.
  • Adapting product offering based on customer feedback and behaviour.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Will have a wealth of experience working in a busy or industrial background (e.g. recycling, manufacturing, scrap metal).
  • A strong background in sales and experience of being on the road meeting and building relationships face to face.
  • Excellent customer service, listening skills and the ability to relate with a variety of diverse clients and personalities.
  • Honest, agile, self-motivated, team player, loyal, highly organised and have the ambition to grow successful with the company through hard work and determination.
  • Confident In being field based 2-3 days a week meeting with clients, alongside spending 2-3 days a week office based calling clients and developing business.
